Tour Route for Magnolia in Seattle

I’ve spent this last spring and summer visiting and previewing locations around Magnolia in Seattle.

Because the Magnolia neighborhood has several great places to visit in relatively close proximity to each other, and because they form a natural driving loop, I thought it might be helpful to publish a suggested tour route. You can look at the individual preview pages for details, including parking info, for each tour stop to help plan your outing.

Quest for Seattle Viewpoints

Park Preview has its genesis in my quest for Seattle viewpoints after I became interested in photography again and finally replaced my little pocket point and shoot with a quality bridge camera at the beginning of 2015.

The blog grew out of my frustration with a lack of details available for the places I wanted to eventually go with my camera, and has now taken on a life of its own. I still haven’t visited most of the viewpoints on my original list yet. But the journey has been enjoyable, with unexpected turns, and I’ve experienced many places I would have overlooked if not for blogging.

My quest continues tomorrow as I take my best friend on her requested “urban outing” for her birthday this year (she lives in the ‘burbs) and we will have a chance to explore some new and old places together.

Photo taken at Ella Bailey Park and posted for the WPC with the “quest” theme.

Seattle Viewpoints

I’ve added a new page to my blog menu with a list of Seattle viewpoints. It breaks down Seattle area viewpoints by category. So if you’re looking for a specific type of scenery for a picnic, want to know where you can watch trains or boats, or are looking for interesting places to go for your photography hobby, this should make it easy to find which parks might have what you’re looking for.

The Seattle viewpoints page only includes parks that I have already previewed, so is in no way comprehensive at this time. As I preview more parks with views I will update the page.

I also recently updated the Lazy Birding page to list the best parks I’ve previewed so far for easy bird watching in the Seattle area. The list is at the bottom of the page and it will be updated as I go as well.
