Mt. Baker Rowing and Sailing Center Open House

Want to try stand-up paddling or kayaking? The Mt. Baker Rowing & Sailing Center will be holding an open house this coming Saturday the 29th from 12pm to 3pm. You can see what equipment is available and learn about their boating programs, classes, and scholarships. The Mt. Baker Center is located at Stan Sayres Park on Lake Washington Boulevard. Arts in Nature Festival

Celebrate the arts! The 20th annual Arts in Nature Festival will be held at Camp Long in West Seattle on Saturday, June 29th and Sunday, June 30th from 11 am until 8 pm.

The free festival includes film, performance arts (music, dance, poetry, comedy), interactive art, and creative-based nature activities. There will also be food trucks, a beer garden, and booths selling merchandise.

Driving Into Seattle

 

One of the things I occasionally like to do is snap photos as I’m driving. The first time I ever did it was on a solo week long camping trip I took to British Columbia in 1989 because there were some great views on a gravel mountain road I was driving and I thought the pics would make a nice memory of being on that road.

I usually only think to do it while on trips, but I’d like to do more around town because the pics capture place and time. These photos are from two different days when I was driving back into the city from being away and the traffic was slow.
