Yesterday I posted some photography channels on YouTube that I enjoy, but I accidentally left one out.

Lynne Luxon-Jones

This is another channel I stumbled over very recently. Lynne lives in the UK, and is yet another photographer with a camper van.* Unlike the others, she doesn’t make her living from photography, but she is serious about it as a hobby. A nice thing about that is that she uses the same photography gear that a lot of beginners do, her primary camera being the Nikon D7200, a DSLR with an APS-C sensor. I like her approach to things, how she explains what she’s doing, and again her sense of humor.

* I’m a bit obsessed with camper vans, so love videos about photographers using one for their outings. One of my favorite “if I won the lotto” fantasy games is mentally designing my own custom-built camper van.

Some YouTube Channels I’ve Been Watching

Over a year ago I posted about some photography related YouTube channels I enjoy. I’ve added a few people since then to those I regularly watch, so figured I’d make another post. This time I’m giving a “starter link” for each one that I think provides a good example of their general style. If you don’t like that video you can try a couple of others and decide if they’re for you or not.

Floating Choirs

Do you like Christmas music, boats, and parks? You might want to check this out.

Argosy is taking their festively lit boats all over the area with choirs on board to carol for spectators on shore. Several of the stops will be at Seattle parks and the events are free. See this Parkways post for the schedule. The boats will also make stops at places other than city parks and in other cities like Tacoma, Des Moines, Kirkland, and Edmonds. If you’d like to see the entire schedule go to this Argosy webpage.

Greenlake Pathway of Lights

The annual Pathway of Lights will be held at Greenlake this Saturday, the 8th of December.

The path around the lake will be lined with thousands of luminaries from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. Weather permitting, a balloon glow will also be there from 4:30 to 5:30. (Inflated and lit hot air balloons.)

There will be complimentary refreshments, and live music will be performed at the Community Center, Small Craft Center, and Bathhouse Theater.

The event is free, but participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to donate.

For full details see this post on the Parkways blog.
