The topic for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week is fountains. I love fountains, and have ever since I was a little tyke. Maybe it’s because I’m an Aquarius.
Unfortunately, I haven’t been around them much at all in recent years. Since starting this blog I’ve only seen four. Two were turned off and one was in terrible light at the time.
This fountain is in the center of the Woodland Park Rose Garden. While not very fancy, it does add quite a bit to the garden ambience.
The spotted towhee is one of our more unusual looking tree-dwellers. They have red eyes, kinda stubby looking wings on an often chubby looking body with white chest and rufous sides, and white spots. They are year-round residents in the Puget Sound region.
Most people agree that the wood duck is our most beautiful duck in the U.S. So exotic looking. They are year-round residents in the Puget Sound region, but I had never seen one before. So when I saw this guy swimming towards the view platform at Twin Ponds Park in April 2015 I almost lost my composure I was so thrilled.
The theme for the WPC this week is: pure. “Pure can convey wholesomeness, something undiluted, or simplicity.”
I have always had a great affinity for the mountains. I love the pure air, the pure water in lakes, rivers, and streams, pure snow on the peaks, and their pure, undiluted beauty.
