Earth Day is celebrating its 45th anniversary on Friday, April 22nd.

You can celebrate in your own quiet way by getting out into nature at one of the hundreds of greater Seattle area parks. Or if you’re in a rambling mood, take a mini road trip and visit a state park. Washington State Parks offer several free days each year when visitors are not required to have a Discover Pass or pay for a day use pass. Earth Day is one of the free days.

If you’re in the mood to get dirty there are many volunteer opportunities in the Seattle area to help with planting and invasive species removal at public parks. Below are links to a sampling of these events.
