The topic for Cee’s B&W Challenge this week is trees. The above tree lived a long life, then bobbed around Lake Wenatchee for a while before washing up on the beach at the State Park. The tree below is a former madrona on Magnolia Bluff.

Wonderful shots! Barren trees look so striking in black and white if you can isolate them, which I never seem able to do. You’ve done it perfectly here!

Thanks, Trisha. When I started going through possible photos I realized that my green trees didn’t translate well to b&w, not enough contrast. Dead trees or silhouetted trees seem to work best. I did have closeups of leaves that worked really nice in b&w, but I figure I’ll save that in case a leaf topic comes up!

There is something about a naked tree. Love it. 😀
